ChainLinq™ Supply Chain Management

Information drives the global supply chain

You can’t make the right decisions unless you can see what’s happening in real time. That’s why Morgan has built its reputation on providing customers with cutting–edge technology to support information sharing and collaboration.

Most companies today are overwhelmed with information—sometimes isolated and inaccurate data. Systems such as Customer Relationship Management(CRM), Warehouse Management Systems(WMS), Transportation Management Systems(TMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) often contain outdated data and don’t communicate with each other. While the intent of the software designers may have been good, the result is more complexity for senior management, not less.

That’s where Morgan is different. We use web tools, business-to-business messaging and real-time technology to bridge data silos and companies, creating simplicity.

How do we do this?

By using online–integration technologies, such as Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) to create bridges between the data silos. And, by keying our systems to transportation events, we leverage the one common thread that links all segmentswebpages of the supply chain. Morgan’s tools and technologies offer quick and simple access to those top pieces of “must-have” information business leaders need to make critical decisions to stay competitive…and stay in business.

ChainLinq™ Transportation Management System

Morgan built its proprietary ChainLinq™ system from the ground up–with maximum integration and flexibility in mind. The system uses Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) and SyBase databases as its foundation, then adds PHP with a variety of AJAX tools for online presentation. A robust set of web services provides for fast integration with a variety of other systems.

The resulting suite, served securely over the Internet enables Morgan staff across the world to collaborate in real time.

ChainLinq™ Mobile

Morgan Company leverages Apple’s iPhone to communicate real-time shipment tracking reports and recipient signatures to its global customer base. The iPhone application communicates directly with the main ChainLinq™ transportation management system and inventory-management applications.Morgan's ChainLinq™ Mobile application for the iPhone allows drivers worldwide to update shipment information immediately.

In addition, the new service integrates the iPhone’s GPS features, providing the exact location of a delivery, which can then be displayed visually on a Google Earth map. This tracking data, delivery notification and imagery is available to customers in real time via the D.W. Morgan Web site.

Because we coordinate critical, can’t-fail movements of goods for our customers ChainLinq™ Mobile enhances our ability to provide better information and tighter management of these assignments than our competitors do. For Morgan, real time really happens in real time. And ChainLinq™ Mobile makes sure that communication is shared instantly–around the corner or around the world.
